Eligibility

You might be able to get this visa if you:

1. are supported by an organisation or individual in Australia to undertake a specific activity and you:
2. apply outside Australia; and
3. intend to stay in Australia for three months or less

• are sponsored by an approved sponsor to undertake a specific activity and you:

1. apply in Australia or
2. apply outside Australia and intend to stay in Australia for more than three months

Length of stay

• If invited by an organisation to participate in a specific event – 3 months
• If participating in Australian government activities – 4 years
• All other activities – 2 years

Temporary Graduate Visa to Australia

Features

This visa is for international students who have recently graduated from an Australian educational institution.
It lets you stay in Australia temporarily after you have finished your studies.

Eligibility

You might be eligible to apply for this visa if you:

• are younger than 50 years of age
• are in Australia
• hold an eligible visa
• meet the Australian study requirement
• meet the English language requirement
• have recently graduated with either an eligible qualification or with skills and qualifications that relate to an occupation on the list of eligible skilled occupations.

Length of stay

• Graduate Work stream – 18 months
• Post-Study Work stream – two to four years

Temporary Work Visa to Australia

(International Relations) visa (subclass 403)

Features

This visa allows you to come to Australia on a temporary basis:

• in relation to a bilateral agreement (Government Agreement stream)

(Short Stay Specialist) visa (subclass 400)

Features

This visa is for people who want to travel to Australia to:

• do short-term, highly specialised, non-ongoing work
• in limited circumstances, participate in an activity or work relating to Australia’s interests.

Generally the stay period allowed is up to three months but up to six months may be considered in limited circumstances if supported by a strong business case.

Eligibility

You might be eligible for this visa if you:

• have specialised skills, knowledge or experience that can assist Australian business, or
• are required in Australia for exceptional circumstances of national importance, such as to assist following a natural disaster.

You must be outside Australia when you apply for this visa and at the time your visa application is decided.
